Dresses can be a wonderful garment for making you look and feel very feminine and sexy, but there are hundreds of different styles available and so it is important that you understand your own body shape and how to try to enhance and flatter your figure.
Classic Pear
The classic pear has a long torso, small bust and large hips and thighs. You need to choose a dress that creates a waistline and flatters your larger bottom half, so look out for a-line skirts and empire waistlines and avoid straight skirts that can make waists look shapeless and widen hips.
Classic Hourglass
The classic hourglass figure has a shapely waist, large bust and shoulders and curvy hips and thighs. As with the pear shape straight skirts can be unflattering, so look out for flowing a-line skirts and nipped in waists as this emphasises your sexy, curvy figure.
Classic Apple
The classic apple shape has a large waist and bust, but smaller hip and thighs, so look for a straight skirt that will skim over the waist and then flatter smaller bottom halves. If you have a very large bust then avoid any very low cut tops as these can be a little revealing for everyday wear.
Classic Gamine
The class gamine figure is literally ‘straight up and down’ so you should avoid any straight cut tops, skirts and dress combinations, as these will make you look very shapeless. If you want to wear a straight skirt to emphasise slim hips and legs team with a tailored shirt that will add definition to your bust and waist to create some sexy curves.
