Many people find swimsuit shopping quite difficult, as these garments are very revealing and make it difficult to hide any parts of your figure you are unhappy about. However there are plenty of designs and styles of swimsuits to choose from, so if you look around you should be able to find one to flatter your figure.
Pear Shapes
Pear shapes have larger legs and hips, so avoid swimsuits that draw attention to this area with ruffles or detailing around the lower section. Look out for bikinis and one piece swimsuits that have a solid dark colour for the bottom half and a colourful top section as these draw the eye up and away from larger hips and thighs, and avoid boy shorts as these emphasis the thigh area.
Short and Long Torsos
If you have a short torso look for swimsuits that emphasise your bust and make your body look longer, such as brightly printed and low cut top sections. If you have a long torso then look for swimsuits that make your legs look longer to balance you out, so choose those cut high on the leg.
Big Busts
You will need to buy a swimsuit that has some built in support if you have a big bust, as this will not only make it more comfortable but will also provide a more flattering outline for your figure. If you want a bikini then avoid straps and opt for a halter neck style instead as this will be much more supportive and void brightly patterned or v-neck top sections as this can overemphasise the bust area.
Larger Waists
Bikinis are not suitable for larger waists as they draw to much attention to the middle area of the body, so opt for one-piece suits with a round neck and generous straps as this will provide support and help to even out your body shape.
